Opening of the Eagles' Heritage Golf Course in Sri Lanka

The Eagles' Heritage Golf Course, Sri Lanka's fifth golf course and the only golf course in Sri Lanka to be situated in the picturesque North Central Province, was inaugurated on 26th January 2014 by the Former Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama. Former Chief of Staff Air Vice Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, and other distinguished guests were also present at the occasion. It is owned and managed by the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The 110-acre course extends southwards from the periphery of the runway, and embraces undulating lush greens with intermittent small lakes added to the changing landscape. The Club House, located close to the first tee-off, faces small water patches on both sides. Eagles' Heritage Golf Course fairways extend down from par 3 to par 5, with plenty of challenges such as water hazards, sand bunkers, the runway, roughs and doglegs on left. The view from any point of the grounds is breathtaking, with walks along the fairway winding over a rippling turf, arched bridges and through colourful bowers of greenery.

The new Eagles' Heritage Golf Course is undoubtedly an excellent addition to Sri Lanka's golf offerings, which provides a unique experience in the country's charming North Central.
